Home Visitor, Head Start/Early Head Start

SIUE’s Head Start/Early Head Start is seeking qualified candidates for a Home Visitor position. The Home Visitor staff provide children and families in the home-based option a comprehensive program to meet their social, intellectual, emotional and physical needs. Home Visitors serve as facilitators, educators, and support systems for parents and families. Responsibilities include preparing developmentally appropriate lesson plans (including instruction during family style dining), implementing the adopted curriculum, managing child behavior, modeling instructions for parents, individualizing child instruction, conducting screening and assessments, scheduling and completing weekly home visits. The Home Visitor will all be responsible for obtaining and managing child outcome data and ensuring accurate records and files are kept for each participant. The SIUE Head Start/Early Head Start program serves more than 860 families and children birth through age five, including children with special needs, throughout St. Clair County, as well as services for expectant mothers. The SIUE Head Start/Early Head Start program is housed in 12 early childhood centers, seven managed directly by SIUE staff and five collaborations. The program includes a rigorous school readiness program and provides comprehensive services, such as health/dental screenings and family engagement and support activities. This position is a current Administrative/Professional vacancy at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville’s East St. Louis Center and will close to applicants at end of business day, 11:59 pm CST, on the posting end date.
