Job Summary:

FAMILY FOCUSED SOLUTIONS COUNSELORS– LEVEL 8 – CONTINGENT UPON GRANT FUNDING – Counties to be served include Bledsoe, Hamilton and Rhea. Other counties may be assigned.

Family Focused Solutions Counselors are responsible to the Director of Family Focused Solutions for establishing a liaison with the Families First (TANF) case managers in his/her counties. This position also:

• Provides assessment and screening to referred clients and their families.
• Addresses major barriers to employment, including, but not limited to, mental health, learning disabilities, child behavioral health issues, domestic violence, and alcohol and drug issues.
• Provides intensive case management and counseling to enhance employability for Families First clients.
• Refers clients to multiple community agencies to address barriers and monitor progress, provide groups to address barrier areas, provide feedback on work plan, work as part of a team that includes DHS and career coaches.
• Keeps updated and accurate client files, monthly logs, and statistics.
• Performs copying and faxing of confidential information.
• Prepares assessment packets and copies for client groups.
• Prepares client charts and paperwork as related to duties assigned.

The Fair Labor Standards Act status of exempt or non-exempt will depend on the incumbent's entry salary for this position. All positions at East Tennessee State University are contingent upon sufficient funding.
