Full time Preschool and Primary Aide 

Upland Country Day School, a coeducational, non-sectarian day school serving students in PK through Grade 9. Located in Kennett Square, southwest of Philadelphia, Upland draws students from towns throughout Chester County and northern Delaware.  

We currently have a full-time opening for a classroom aide in the Pre-Kindergarten classroom. This caring individual will assist lead teachers with class instruction from 7:45AM-12:00PM, as well as lead afternoon enrichment activities from 12:30-3:00 each school day.

Furthermore, within this position the ability to contribute in other areas of the School including extra curricular activities (i.e. coaching and after school clubs) is especially desired. 

Classroom Responsibilities:  

• Ensure a safe, healthy, and developmentally appropriate learning environment where every child feels emotionally secure and has a strong sense of belonging.
• Assist in planning and implementing daily lessons/activities that follow the classroom’s Daily Schedule and Upland’s curriculum guidelines that inspire creativity and encourage exploration.
• Provide diligent supervision of all children that fosters social/emotional development and guide each individual towards positive classroom behaviors.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of High School Diploma
• Minimum of 2 years of classroom education and/or instructional experience in Early Education (ages 0 – 5 years) 
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Collaborative worker and great member to a team
• Able to react quickly and calmly in a variety of situations, as well as multi-task
• Current Clearances:  

• Act 34 - PA State Police Criminal Record Check
• Act 114 - FBI Report and Fingerprinting
• Act 151 - PA Child Abuse History Clearance

Preferred Skills:

• Current Pediatric First Aid and Infant/Child CPR certification
• Knowledge of, and familiarity with, PA State Rules & Regulations for Child Care Centers put forth by the Office of Child Development and Early Learning (OCDEL) 
• Experience or interest in coaching or extra curricular activities.
