The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences within the UW School of Medicine is the third largest clinical department within the School of Medicine with 285 full-time faculty members, 280 clinical faculty members, and over 200 staff. Department faculty provide clinical services in 5 hospitals, 14 primary care locations, and several outpatient sites in addition to telepsychiatry consultations to more than 150 clinics in Washington and beyond. As the only academic psychiatry department serving the five state WWAMI region (Washington, Wyoming, Alaska, Montana, Idaho), the Department’s highly competitive residency training program is largely responsible for developing the mental health workforce in the Pacific Northwest. The Department’s robust research portfolio totals $35 million in grants and contracts per year for projects ranging from clinical neurosciences to treatment development to health policy and population health. The Department is recognized as an international leader in developing, testing, and implementing Collaborative Care, an integrated care model increasingly seen as a solution for population-based mental health care. Other areas of excellence include Addictions, Autism, High Risk Youth, Neurosciences, and Trauma, and the Department is developing innovative new programs in Technology and Mental Health, Global Mental Health, Maternal and Child Mental Health, and Targeted Intervention Development.

The University of Washington Community & Behavioral Health Policy (CBHP) CoLab is currently seeking a full time Program Assistant to join our team. The CoLab’s research engages community expertise and research evidence to spark creative and sustainable change in behavioral health policy and systems, particularly those involving youth and families. The CoLab includes the Evidence Based Practice Institute (EBPI), a statewide resource to promote high quality mental health services for children and youth in Washington State. Responsibilities:
  • Serve as a primary contact for the program, monitor email account, provide information regarding program policies and activities, and perform a variety of public relations function.
  • Manage calendars and schedule meetings among multiple individuals.
  • Assist in coordinating materials and resources for meetings.
  • Assist with ordering, receiving, and maintain research supplies.
  • Assist with updating website content.
  • Maintain social media presence for the center.
  • Perform complex word processing tasks, including merging, integrating text with graphics, creating reference libraries using EndNote.
  • Manage excel tracking sheets and databases.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records.
  • Maintain confidentiality of subject information.
  • Assist in developing and formatting PowerPoint presentations and reports.
  • Assist with other research related and clerical tasks, as needed (which could include, contacting participants, data analysis, surveys, writing, literature reviews).

    REQUIREMENTS

  • High school graduation or equivalent AND Two years of full-time clerical experience OR equivalent education/ experience

    Additional Requirements:
  • Experience managing and coordinating calendars for multiple individuals.
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Experience with academic citation management software & preparing manuscripts for publication.
  • Experience developing and formatting PowerPoint presentations and reports.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to interact professionally and maintain relationships with stakeholders such as state administrators, local providers, and judges and other court personnel.
  • Ability to competently work with individuals and families from diverse socio-economic and racial backgrounds.

    Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.

    DESIRED

  • 2 years of college-level coursework in psychology, social work, public health, criminal justice, or other relevant academic area
  • Experience with SPSS, Qualtrics, EndNote, Piktochard, Squarespace or Mailchimp.
  • Experience managing Social Media presence (Twitter)
  • Experience with graphic design or web platforms.
  • Experience collecting data for research studies.
  • Experience conducting literature reviews.
  • Experience conducting basic statistical procedures.
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish is desirable but not required.
