Responsibilities for Early Learning Faculty

• Care for and develop a stimulating environment
• Co-construct curricular program
• Supervise and guide child interactions as assigned by the Division Head
• Regularly communicate with families about student progress
• Facilitate after school activities
• Participate in all required meetings
• Perform other supervisory duties as required of all Lower School teachers: lunch, recess, chapel, and morning/afternoon supervision.

Skills and Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree (Early Childhood, Child Development, or Elementary Education preferred)
• Classroom teaching experience (preferred)
• Possess a sound understanding of the developmental stages of preschool and Pre-Kindergarten students
• Ability and willingness to facilitate differentiated, student-centered best practices
• Willingness to collaborate with a variety of specialized providers on the student support team
• Possess an understanding of literacy development, benchmarking, phonics, and early number sense instruction
• Understanding of the Reggio Emilia approach (preferred) 
• Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills with the ability to communicate effectively and respectfully with all constituents 
• Demonstrated professional behavior including discretion, judgment, and integrity  
• Ability and willingness to encourage student discovery and autonomy of thought
• The candidate should be organized and able to manage a series of student information platforms and systems, including: BlackBaud, Seesaw, Gmail, and Google environment.
