Specific Title: Division Chief of Pediatric Hospital Medicine Location: IU School of Medicine Department: IUSM - Pediatrics Campus: IU School of Medicine Indianapolis Position Announcement: Indiana University School of Medicine is announcing the search for a Division Chief of Pediatric Hospital Medicine within the Department of Pediatrics. This is an extraordinary opportunity for a visionary leader, who will lead the division to national and international prominence as a clinical, educational and research center of excellence in pediatric hospital medicine. IU School of Medicine is the largest medical school in the country with more than 20,000 living alumni and 3,000 learners. Its diverse faculty is made up of 2,700 full-time members and 3,200 volunteer faculty who are responsible for training medical, graduate and postgraduate students. IU School of Medicine is the only allopathic medical school in Indiana. In addition to the flagship campus in Indianapolis, the school has eight campuses in communities that range from urban hubs like Gary to rural communities such as Terre Haute, allowing learners to experience medicine in all settings. The Department of Pediatrics at IUSM/Riley Hospital for Children is a 360-member faculty that is consistently within the top 10 pediatric departments in NIH funded research in the United States (Peds 2019 #7 among all medical schools and #3 among all public institutions) and has 18 Fellowship programs. There is a new large pediatric clinical research center, a new pediatric outpatient center dedicated to general pediatrics and neurodevelopment related divisions in pediatrics, genetics, and psychiatry. There are also State-of-the-art laboratories in a dedicated pediatric research building, a clinical research center, a well-functioning biobank, six T32 fellow training grants and one K12s that support research in the Department. Our nationally recognized Division of Children's Health Research is available for collaboration and as a resource for combined fellowships with the pediatric hospitalist program. The Department also has research relationships with the Regenstrief Institute in Health Informatics. Pediatric Radiology and Pediatric Neuroradiology are strong research partners. The Pediatric Hospital Medicine Division was founded in 2002 and is one of the largest Academic Hospital Medicine Divisions in the nation. This division provides care at Methodist Hospital, IU Health North Hospital, IU Health West Hospital, and Riley Hospital for Children. These four facilities are the Indianapolis based inpatient facilities of the IU Health hospital system, Indiana's largest comprehensive health center. The Pediatric Hospital Medicine faculty provide a range of care, spanning delivery room and neonatal care to tertiary care management of pediatric patients.
