Roycemore School is currently seeking a dynamic assistant teacher for our Early Childhood for the 2020-2021 school year. Now in its 105th year, Roycemore is a highly regarded, coeducational independent school for students from 3 years old through 12th grade. Located in Evanston, Illinois, on the north side of Chicago, Roycemore enjoys a long-standing relationship with Northwestern University including the Northwestern option, where high school students can choose to take college courses at the University as dual-enrolled students for no additional charge.
The assistant should possess a holistic view of children, an understanding of the developmental issues of early childhood children and a willingness to work with and learn from an experienced teacher. The assistant will work with small groups and individual students, will accompany the children to their special teachers, and participate in lunch and recess.

Lower School Division Head
Early Childhood Education Degree; preferred or an Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development.
Experience with early childhood children.
Patience, maturity, and a love of young children.
Competence in connecting with students and help creating a healthy classroom community.
Excellent communication skills, sound judgment, and emotional maturity.
Ability to take direction from supervising teachers and staff.
Ability to work cooperatively with other teachers and assistants.
