We are the number one referral center for clefts and craniofacial problems in Oregon and the only craniofacial team in the state recognized by the American Cleft and Craniofacial Association.

In Oregon, our team is the only provider for state-of-the-art Naso-Alveolar Molding, a pre-surgery appliance therapy, used along with surgery to reduce the facial disfigurement of cleft lip/palate patients.

We are dedicated to providing children the most complete diagnosis and treatment for a wide variety of conditions, beginning as early as prenatal evaluations through adolescence.

This position is under the administration of the Director of the Institute on Development & Disability and the CDRC Discipline Director of Speech-Language Pathology. The duties of this position are in support of the missions, goals, and objectives of OHSU and the IDD, inclusive of teaching, research, and service. The SLP in this position will function as a clinical leader in his/her areas of expertise, and be expected to contribute to program development and quality improvement.

Direct Clinical (80%): The SLP in this position will provide Speech-Language Pathology diagnostic evaluation, treatment and consultative services for patients of the Child Development and Rehabilitation Center, participating in many of CDRCs interdisciplinary clinics. The SLP will be responsible for evaluation, team collaboration, and family feedback. The SLP will participate in follow-up treatment of CDRC clinic patients. The incumbent will also participate in clinical education of practicum students, interns, and fellows completing training in the CDRC programs.

Indirect Clinical (20%): The SLP in this position ensures timely completion of clinical documentation and responsiveness to clinical requests. The SLP participates in other activities appropriate to the discipline, and consistent with the mission and goals of CDRC and OHSU. Such activities include, but are not limited to, clinical documentation, consultation and technical assistance to families, community agencies and providers, serving on agency and university committees, and participation in departmental meetings and in-service presentations. Additional activities may include engaging in research appropriate to Speech-Language Pathology, including cooperative joint research with other faculty.

• The Speech-Language Pathologist will hold a minimum of a masters degree in SLP.
• Seeking an SLP with a minimum of 5 years pediatric clinical experience serving children with complex conditions, with a specific interest and focus on children with cleft palate and craniofacial disorders, feeding/swallowing disorders, and neurodevelopmental disorders.
• Must hold current CCC/SLP and hold or be eligible for Oregon SLP licensure.
• Applicants with experience in bilingualism and/or assistive technology are also encouraged to apply.

• Doctoral degree.
• Preference for an SLP with experience working on interdisciplinary teams, utilizing a family-centered model of care.
