(11 month Administrator position starting August 1, 2020)
We are seeking an enthusiastic and culturally responsive Middle School Dean of Students. The Middle School Dean of Studentswill report to the Middle School Division Head and serve as a member of the Middle School Leadership Team. The Middle School Dean of Students will be responsible for overseeing student programming and key areas of student support, as well as supporting the Middle School Head as needed. The Middle School Dean of Students will teach one to two sections in his/her area of academic discipline and/or serve as an advisor on one of the three grade-level teams. The successful candidate will be committed to nurturing a diverse, inclusive community, be a good communicator and have prior leadership experience.

Demonstrated track record of working well with a variety of constituents, including a courteous and helpful demeanor when working with parents, faculty, staff, administrators, and visitors
Strong attention to detail

A sense of humor
The wisdom and confidence to provide advice and counsel on sensitive matters of importance
Strong understanding of child development and a joy in working with Middle School aged-children
Interest in utilizing technology as a communication tool
Bachelor’s Degree required
5 years of teaching experience with the majority spent in Middle School
Some leadership experience
Additional Qualifications we’d love to see
Previous leadership experience, e.g., grade-level dean, grade-level coordinator, or department chair
Advanced Degrees in Education, Leadership or an academic discipline
Experience in Restorative Justice practices
