Essential Functions: Responsible for managing and actively engaging high school student groups. Act as a role model for enrolled C2 Pipeline participants socially and academicallyAssist with distribution and supervision of meals; remain in cafeteria to supervise the C2 Pipeline attendees.Maintain daily student records including individual Weekly Progress Reports, Student Planners and Attendance.Assist the Site Coordinator in planning and implementing program launches, open houses, special exhibits, field-trips and any performances.Attend all training's as mandated by Michigan Department of Human Services Bureau of Children and Adult Licensing requirementsEffectively plan for the classes, programs and enrichmentWrite and or follow lesson plans that accompany the curriculum.Follow the Wayne State College of Nursing and WSU C2 Pipeline policies and procedures as outlined in the employee handbook.Assist with the Michigan Department of Education and MSU 21st. CCLC surveys and data collection and deadlines.Participate in the David P. Weikart/High Scope Youth Program Quality Assessment (YPQA) as mandated by Michigan Department of Education. Actively promote and assist in recruiting and enrollment for the C2 Pipeline 21st CCLC Program.Ensure the safety of all participants' in assigned location.Other duties as assigned. Qualifications: oIn lieu of Bachelor's Degree Department the Health and Human Services Licensing Rules for Child Care Centers Rule 400.8122 will be followed to include; Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development, Montessori Credential with 480 hours experience in a youth related program, valid CDA with 480 hours experience in a youth related program, high school diploma/GED With 12 semester hours in coursework in Early Childhood Education, Child Development and 960 hours experience in youth related field, high school diploma/GED with a combination of 12 semester hours and or/18 CEU's to equal 180 clock hours and or 18 CEU'S to equal 180 clock hours in Early Childhood Education, Child Development or child-related field and 1,920 hours experience in a youth related field, high School Diploma/GED with a combination of 6 semester hours and/or 9 CEU's to equal 90 clock hours of coursework in Early Childhood Education, Child Development or child-related field and 3,840 hours experience in a youth related field.?Must have experience managing and engaging groups or classes of "at-risk" high school students.?Be knowledgeable in high school core academics (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math (STEM) and Reading).?Must demonstrate a mature attitude in dealing with students, parents, school district staff and community partners.?Evidence of organization, supervisory and interpersonal skills for establishing good relationships with staff, teachers, parents and students.?Must be willing to participate in additional training and workshops as designated by the after school program.?Must be CPR/First Aid Certified or willing to obtain certification prior to working with students.?Must secure Live Scan fingerprinting prior to working with students.?Must show proof of TB Skin Test Results, verified within one year of employment prior to working with students.?Must show evidence of Blood-borne Pathogen Training prior to working with students.?Must pass all background checks as mandated by Department of Human Services Daycare Licensing Guidelines and Wayne State Universities employment policies.?Must meet the guidelines of the Bureau of Children and Licensing Good Moral Character and Licensing Rules as well as 1973 PA 116 as amended and pertaining to Childcare Organizations.?Must be able to commit to the assigned work schedule including attendance at mandated meetings and professional development opportunities.
