St. Matthew’s Parish School is seeking an experienced Middle School (Grades 5?8) History/Social Studies teacher for the 2020?21 school year. The position involves teaching two grades of History or Social Studies within the Middle School 5-8 program.Grade levels to be determined in collaboration with the Social Studies Department. The ideal candidate would be an important member of a dedicated team of educators who collaborate in developing the History curriculum as well as interdisciplinary PBL programs for grades 5?8. Candidates must have a strong understanding of child development, enjoy young adolescents, and display a passion for History and Social Studies. Candidates should enjoy collaborating with colleagues and engaging in the entire middle School experience. Additionally, Middle School teachers serve as advisors to a small group of students and become involved with co?curricular programs such as service learning or overnight student trips. Coaching and other opportunities are also available.

Compensation on will be determined by years of teaching experience and other relevant qualifications. Teachers' salaries at St. Matthew’s are highly competitive, set to be on average in the top quartile of leading independent schools.
