We are seeking a warm, experienced and motivated Kindergarten Head Teacher for a one-year maternity leave position for the 2020-21 school year.
A Kindergarten class is made up of approximately twenty-two students, and we have three Kindergarten classes which are part of our Preschool program. In a child's Kindergarten experience, we value a balance between encouraging healthy social-emotional and identity development, establishing and deepening connections within the classroom community, and fostering a love of learning through exploration and an introduction to early academic experiences. We have three Kindergarten classes at Packer which are part of our Preschool program. Our Preschool program is inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach in which we appreciate all aspects of a child's development and encourage children to be at the center of their own learning.
Potential candidates must have a Master's degree in Early Childhood or Elementary Education and should have experience working as a Head Teacher with young learners. An ideal candidate must also demonstrate a caring and enthusiastic personality and possess excellent interpersonal skills. Experience working in the Reggio Emilia philosophy is highly preferable.
