The Department of Human Development and Family Studies invites applications for a fixed-term faculty position to teach HDF 404: Children and Hospitalization during the fall 2020 semester. This one-semester assignment begins on August 24, 2020.
- Earned Master's degree in a field relevant to child development and child life by date of hire (e.g., child life, child development, human development and family studies; counseling, education);- Certified Child Life Specialist; - Meets the requirements specified by the Association of Child Life Professional for teaching a Child Life course taught by a Certified Child Life Specialist, as follows:o Hold/maintain the CCLS credential throughout the period of instruction;o A minimum of 4,000 hours of paid child life clinical experience OR a minimum of two years of experience teaching child life subject matter;o Maintain knowledge of the Child Life Code of Ethics and the Official Documents of the Association of Child Life Professionals; o Pursue training relevant to adult learning styles and evidence-based teaching methodology.o Ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodations.
