The department of Pediatrics consists of 119 staff, 25 academic staff, 155 faculty, 220 volunteer faculty; annual operation budget of $35 million across both restricted and unrestricted accounts, residency program administration consisting of 90 residents and 24 fellows; and space and facilities management for approximately 50,000 assigned square footage. Under minimal supervision, the incumbent will serve as the Operations Director for the Department of Pediatrics with minimal direction from the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO). The director is directly responsible for all business operations encompassed within the departments which includes but is not limited to space and facilities management, community outreach, new program development, research laboratory management and oversight of the Division of Developmental Behavioral and Division of Neurology. The director will play a key role in the Department Senior Management team which includes the Department Chair, Clinic Managers, MSOs and CAO. The Director will work directly with the CAO and Chair to implement strategies to ensure successful operational management of the Department. The incumbent will plan, direct, implement, organize, and manage business office functions for area listed above. The incumbent will directly supervise the community outreach manager and the MSO II for the Child Development school. The incumbent will oversee day-to-day operations, conduct studies, perform independent analyses, make decisions which affect the department operations, develop and implement procedures, and recommend policy changes to CAO and Chair to ensure compliance with policies, rules and regulations imposed by government and outside agencies, School, Campus and University authorities.
