The Preschool is a ministry of Faith Presbyterian Church- a vibrant church family of more than 800 members, and average 300 weekly attendance. The Preschool enjoys annual enrollment of more than 120 children, with a dedicated staff of twenty. The Preschool Director is a part of the Church staff leadership team and reports to the Senior Pastor. The Director participates in Church staff meetings and welcomes church staff members to attend Preschool staff meetings. The Preschool is seeking a Director capable of building upon the Preschool’s well-respected heritage and reputation as a nurturing, collaborative community that fosters personal growth and a love of learning among the staff, children and families. The Director is responsible for all aspects of the daily operation of the Preschool, including curriculum development, staff hiring and management, marketing and communication, recruitment and enrollment, parent relations, budget development and oversight, purchasing of supplies and equipment, property maintenance and other duties which may be identified on an ongoing basis.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Early Childhood Education (ECE), Child Development or a related field (Master’s Degree is preferred.)
Must have Florida Teaching Certificate issued by FLDOE, Level I Florida Director Credential issued by FLDCF, and VPK Director Endorsement issued by FLDCF by start of employment. At least nine (9) credits in ECE administration which must be completed within two years of being hired. Five (5) to ten (10) years of classroom teaching experience. One (1) year of supervisory or program administration experience preferred. Knowledge of NAEYC accreditation and procedures. Knowledge of state licensing and procedures. Skill in the admissions process. Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills. Proven leadership, as well as managerial and organizational skills. A track record for being flexible, approachable and inspiring positive collaboration. Demonstrated ability to relate sensitively to children, parents and staff. Dedication to the Christian education and spiritual formation of children. Computer and email proficiency. Capable of creating and implementing an operating budget. Already possess or be willing to complete necessary educational experience to serve as both the operational and pedagogical director per NAEYC standards within two years of being hired. Must be willing to work to secure Level II Florida Director Credential issued by FLDCF upon completion of one (1) year of supervisory experience and completion of required coursework.

For over 60 years, Faith Presbyterian Preschool & Kindergarten (FPK) has had a tradition of educational
excellence and an active community of families in Tallahassee, Florida. FPK has the distinction of being
accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), one of only three
such programs in Tallahassee. FPK offers programs for children ages 2-Kindergarten.

The children attend a regular chapel service, have a daily devotion, say grace at mealtimes, and
celebrate annual Christian holidays.
The Director sets the tone of the Preschool and leads by example by being considerate, caring, polite
and courteous always. In partnership with the Church clergy, the Director ensures that the Preschool
does all things to the glory of God.
