Baylor University is seeking a highly qualified and positive leader to fulfill the role of Director of the Piper Center for Family Studies and Child Development. The Piper Center is an integral academic component of the Department of Family and Consumer Sciences (FCS), in the Robbins College of Health and Human Sciences. The director provides vision, direction and oversight of center operations and collaborative endeavors with the University and the broader community. The Piper Center serves as a model of developmentally appropriate practice and excellence in early education and care of young children and support of families. The director facilitates learning and research opportunities for university faculty, students, and the community. The Piper Centers serves as a laboratory environment through the Child and Family Studies program. The director oversees the development and implementation of developmentally appropriate curriculum, supports the operation of the Center by hiring and training staff, establishing and monitoring the budget, and ensuring compliance of Texas licensing requirements and NAEYC accreditation standards.
The successful candidate for this position must also:

Be detail-oriented, with excellent organization and time management skills.
Qualifications A Master's degree in child development, family studies, early childhood education, or related field, five years of relevant work experience, have or meet all criteria for the Texas Childcare Director's licensure, and a Christian faith are required. A PhD or EdD degree in child development, family studies, early childhood education, or related field and five years of relevant work experience are preferred.
