The Education Department invites applications for part-time field experience supervisors at the Associate Lecturer rank to work with students in Early Education and Care, Early Intervention and Community Education majors for the Spring 2020 semester. Applicants should possess significant teaching or other appropriate professional experience working in the field of early education and care (infant, toddler, preschool), early intervention or afterschool/youth programs or community-based programs which support children and families. Applicants should possess a strong understanding of child development, developmentally appropriate practices in early education, curriculum planning, and DEEC and/or DPH state standards, and core competencies. Applicants should also possess demonstrated skills providing feedback to novice educators. The review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled.
A minimum of a Master’s Degree in a related discipline.
Significant teaching or other relevant professional experience working in the field of early education and care, early intervention, afterschool/youth or community education programs.
Possess a strong understanding of child development, developmentally appropriate practices in early education, curriculum planning, and DEEC and/or DPH state standards, and core competencies.
Prior experience mentoring student teachers in pre-practicum and practicum experiences.
DPH and/or DEEC certifications recommended.
