The Statistician Investigator serves as Principal Investigator (PI) or Co-Investigator of funded research project(s) at the FPG Child Development Institute. The Statistician Investigator serves as the primary statistician on multi-disciplinary developmental projects and can conduct his or her own research projects. The Statistician Investigator will design experimental, quasi-experimental, or observational studies to address research aims that maximize statistical power while addressing potential bias, conduct complex longitudinal analysis that accounts for missing data and clustering in the data, and assist in writing grant proposals, research papers, and presentations. If PI, the Statistical Scientist provides leadership on the project(s) by chairing team meetings, leading conferences and calls, budget and personnel management, and serving as lead liaison to the federal funding agency or foundation(s).
Education and Experience:
Must have a minimum of five years of experience working as a collaborator with Researchers and must have a comprehensive knowledge of applied behavioral statistics. Other experience should include coordinating the statistical and data management components of multiple research projects simultaneously. The incumbent should have demonstrated experience in conducting linear model analyses (especially complex longitudinal analyses), experimental and non-experimental study design and the ability to address issues of casual inference, written communication, public speaking, and presentation. Expertise in structural equation modeling and econometric methods is also desired.
