The Institute for Families at Rutgers School of Social Work seeks highly qualified individuals to serve as per diem trainer consultants. Trainers will be expected to conduct one day or multi-day professional development trainings throughout New Jersey to professionals working in child welfare, child support and/or early childhood education. Trainers are scheduled to facilitate classroom-based sessions following established curricula.
Training assignments are made according to field needs and frequency varies. Trainings are delivered within offices across the state. Most classes are scheduled from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Social Work, Human Services, Education, Training, Human Resources, Public/Business Administration, Child Development, Communications, or related discipline appropriate to training being conducted. Master's degree preferred. Computer proficiency and high level of comfort with presentation software and use of learning.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Expertise in either child welfare, child support OR early childhood education as demonstrated by at least five years' experience working in the field, knowledge of applicable practice models, and/or fluency in the policies, legislation, and workforce systems supporting families and children.
Computer proficiency to include: setting up and troubleshooting equipment; use of presentation software and inputting data on line.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Must be able to stand throughout work day to conduct classroom based training. Must be able to transport training materials (including participant guides, flipcharts, markers and other training material) for class size of 30 participants. Must be able to travel by personal vehicle to various training locations throughout New Jersey
