The Isidore Newman School seeks an inspiring, nurturing, and collaborative educator to serve as Director of Green Trees, Newman's premier early childhood education program. Founded in 2015, Green Trees is a co-equal division of Newman, and serves 160 students ages infant through 4 years. Through an inquiry-based project approach with child-directed topics of study, teachers intentionally plan an environment infused with experiences that promote critical thinking and problem solving. The Director of Green Trees should have a strong understanding of child development and a genuine love of working with young children and their families. The successful candidate will ideally have a minimum of five to seven years of teaching and leadership experience at the early childhood or lower elementary level; a graduate degree; a passion for working with children and their families; and the ability to lead and inspire an exemplary faculty. Experience with strategic planning, faculty hiring, teacher evaluation, scheduling, curriculum development, student life and activities, budgets, and management of complex processes will be particularly relevant. Experience in fields outside of education is also valued.
