Summary: Responsible to the Department Manager(s), he/she works in a self-directed work team and coordinates work between other work teams committed to the department's purposes and goals. The Behavioral Health Therapist/Licensed works within the scope of Licensed Clinical Social Work practice. His/her functions also include direct patient care responsibilities (inpatient, outpatient and consultation/liaison settings) as needed to meet patient needs. Responsible to practice within their scope of licensure in accordance with approved policies, procedures and protocols. The Behavioral Health Therapist/Licensed contributes to positive outcomes and meeting the cultural expectations of the organization by exhibiting professional behavior and clinical expertise. He/she shares responsibility for all aspects of patient and team functions. The Behavioral Health Therapist/Licensed performs other duties as assigned.
- Provides psychotherapy treatment consistent with licensing mandates including outpatient therapy to individuals and families. Participate in the therapy supervision program of the department to ensure continuous improvement in therapy skills. - Serves as a resource for health care teams with complex patient care issues. - Assess staff development needs. Provides supervision of social work students and MSW interns (as assigned by department manager(s)) to provide clinical experiences necessary for their educational development and eligibility for licensure. - Provide examination of patients in emergency situations and, when necessary, completes certificate for Involuntary Examination. - Collaborates with Education Specialist and community resources to provide educational programs for staff and community. - Assists staff in developing advanced social work practice skills. - Coach, teach and mentor others to continuously increase competence of team.

Education equivalent experience: Essential: * Masters in Social Work or Masters level or higher degree in: Counseling and Guidance, Psychology, Rehabilitation Counseling, Social Work, Special Education, Therapeutic Recreation, Child Development and Family Relations (ECU), Criminal Justice, Education, Health Education, Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Religion, Social Sciences, Sociology
