As the Center Director at the Mitzi Freidheim Englewood Child & Family Center you will oversee all components of our classroom-based early childhood education services. The Center Director is responsible for promoting a culture of collaboration and innovation and ensuring that best practices are followed in all aspects of the center’s early childhood services. As the Center Director, you’ll also work closely with the Development, Quality Improvement & Training, Grant, and Finance Departments to monitor and develop budgets, explore new funding opportunities, and ensure the highest standards of quality education are being met in all aspects of your programs. The Center Director reports to the Director of Education & Child Development Services and directly supervises the Assistant Site Managers.
Monitor programming to ensure funding, licensing, and Best Practice quality standards are being met.
Assist in preparing fiscal and other reports, and grant applications.
Participate in the development and management of the Center budget and finances.
Ensure programs are in compliance with funders and accrediting bodies, including the Illinois Department of Children & Family Services, Illinois State Board of Education, and NAEYC.
Provide coaching, support, and reflective supervision to assigned staff, including Assistant Site Managers.
Represent the program and agency to parents and the community.
Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or equivalent field required; Master’s preferred.
At least five years of early childhood administration/management required.
Gateways credentials required: ECE Level 5, Infant Toddler Credential Level 5, and Director Credential Level 2 or higher.
Experience with Teaching Strategies GOLD and Creative Curriculum preferred.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
Must have excellent interpersonal, management and communication skills.
