Program Description and History
University NOW Day Nursery (UNOW) is a quality child care program licensed by the State of New Jersey and has been accredited through the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) since 1996. We pride ourselves in providing high quality care with teacher to child ratios that meet or exceed NAEYC recommendations, small class sizes and low staff turnover. UNOW is located on the Princeton University campus serving faculty, staff, student and community families. Each infant classroom consists of a group of 8 infants and 4 fulltime teachers (Lead Teacher, Associate Teacher and 2 Assistant Teachers).
Infant Associate Teacher job description
We are seeking experienced and educated infant teachers, specifically for young infants 3 to 12 months of age. The Infant Associate Teacher works collaboratively with the Infant Lead Teacher, serving as primary caregivers, developing trusting relationships with young infants and their families and to provided a loving and responsive environment in a full-day child care setting. The Associate Teacher will maintain observations and daily communications with families, ongoing developmental assessments, conduct home visits and parent teacher conferences. Must have strong knowledge of early development and apply that knowledge when planning experiences and with interactions for the infants in their care. Teachers at UNOW strive to know each child and their unique culture and strengths and take care in scaffolding babies through each miles stone during that first year of development. Must have a passion for working with young infants and their families and to continue to seek the latest in best practice in infant care.
Minimum 3 year's experience working with young infants (3 to 12 months) in a quality child care setting.
Minimum AA degree in Early Child Development or NAEYC Equivalent.
