This position will be housed in the Center for Community Health (CCH) which provides a home for a diverse array of academic investigators, community partners, and staff members, who are all dedicated to promoting health through the conduct and dissemination of community-engaged research. As a center with a presence in the both the Institute for Public Health and Medicine (IPHAM) and Northwestern University Clinical and Translational Sciences Institute (NUCATS), CCH provides community and stakeholder engagement infrastructure across the research spectrum.
This project will be conducted with the Mothers and Babies Team in the Center for Community Health. Mothers and Babies is a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Intervention that aims to prevent postpartum depression and prevent the onset of new cases of postpartum depression. This project examine the impact of a postpartum depression preventive intervention on maternal and child health outcomes, and builds on a previous 3-year study. Research activities will be conducted with perinatal women who previously received the intervention and their partners to evaluate mental health, social, behavioral, parenting, and child development outcomes.
Performs biomedical &/or social-behavioral research by administering tests &/or questionnaires following protocols; collecting, compiling, tabulating &/or processing responses; gathering information; &/or assisting in the preparation of material for inclusion in reports. Completes all activities by strictly following Good Clinical Practices (GCP) & all relevant current local, state, & federal laws, regulations, guidance, policy & procedure developed by the NU Institutional Review Board (IRB), Food & Drug Administration (FDA) Code of Federal Regulations (CFR), & the International Conference on Harmonization (ICH).
Recruits study participants.
Reviews & obtains informed consent.
Schedules study visits with participants.
Scores test results.
Collects survey data.
Facilitates communication with key personnel & participants to maintain project study flow.
Maintains detailed records of results which may include collecting, extracting & entering data; &/or preparing basic charts & graphs.
Performs scientific literature searches in support of research.
May process reimbursements for travel expenses.
Monitors & distribute petty cash.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a bachelor's or higher degree in a major such as social or health science or related; OR appropriate combination of education and experience.
Must complete Northwestern's IRB CITI training before interacting with any participants & must re-certify every 3 years.

Preferred Qualifications: (Education and experience)
Education in a field relevant to public health, women’s health, social work or psychology.
Experience in conducting human subject research and outreach activities with at-risk populations, preferably in community and home settings.
Experience administering surveys over the phone and in person.
Preferred Competencies: (Skills, knowledge, and abilities)
Bilingual (English and Spanish) – Strongly preferred
Experience with REDCap and database management
