IUPUI's Center for Young Children is seeking an Infant Specialist. This position is responsible for the daily management of the children and activities in their classroom in accordance with licensing and the Center's policies, practices, and procedures. They will plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities for children enrolled. Additionally, they will provide direction to assistant teachers on a daily basis.
REQUIRED: High school diploma with a Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential; OR Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Development.
Must be 21 years old.
Knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices for early childhood. Ability to effectively communicate with children, parents, staff, and general public. Ability to effectively exchange information. Knowledge of state licensing regulations. Awareness and acceptance of cultural differences.
Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Development or Elementary Education. One year of experience in a licensed childcare facility.
Working Conditions/Physical Demands:
Ability to move around and move up to 30 pounds, transport children, and work in various outdoor temperatures (25-90 degrees). Ability to clean up after children.
