Children’s Home & Aid’s diverse range of early childhood programming is funded by multiple sources, including the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE), Head Start/Early Head Start, and Child Care Assistance Program (CCAP). As the Director of Education and Child Development Services, you will manage these multi-funded programs and also directly supervise four Site Managers, one Education Manager, and the Disabilities and Mental Health Services Coordinator. The Director of Education and Child Development Services also engages in strategic planning and collaboration with other members of the Education leadership team, funders, and community partners to ensure goals and outcomes are achieved for all children and families. This position requires energy, leadership, teamwork, planning, detail-orientation, analytical skills and a desire for continuous improvement. It is about comprehensive, quality services for families and embracing the role of our Early Childhood centers as a community partner.
Provide direct supervision and coaching to assigned staff.
Oversee program activities provided at each of four metro early childhood centers; ensure compliance with DCFS, NAEYC, Head Start, and ISBE performance standards.
Assist site managers to structure environments, routines, and interactions that contribute to positive social-emotional outcomes for the children and families in a program.
Develop linkage agreements and maintain relationships with other community providers.
Work collaboratively with other education leadership staff, community partners, and funders to comprehensively meet the needs of children and families.
Participate in the development and management of program budgets, including monitoring and approving program expenses; work closely with program staff and agency finance department to ensure accuracy and timeliness of finance reporting.
Collect and analyze client and outcome data to inform program activities and increase quality of services.
Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field required.
At least five years’ experience in an Early Childhood Program.
At least three years’ experience in an early childhood administration/management role; multi-site/multi-funder experience strongly preferred.
Excellent verbal and written communication, and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
Ability to effectively collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team.
Valid driver’s license, insurance and a reliable vehicle required.
