BCD Kindergarten assistant teaching responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Homeroom assistant teacher in BCD’s elementary division;
Provide a stimulating, creative and an appropriately challenged or appropriately differentiated educational environment, including opportunities for children to develop cognitive, social, emotional, and physical skills.
Use best practices regarding student-centered instruction, collaboration, and authentic assessment;
Participate in ongoing training in literacy, differentiation, and other appropriate topics;
Provide regular and thorough communication to all BCD constituencies (students, parents, and colleagues);
Support enrollment and retention by assisting with tours, events, and other school outreach; and
Perform other duties as directed by the Head of School.

The ideal candidate for this position will possess the following:
Demonstrated passion for teaching elementary school children;
Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or Elementary Education is preferred. However, coursework in early childhood education or child development in combination with verifiable experience working with children is also acceptable.
Experience teaching in an early childhood or elementary school setting;
Knowledge of or background in independent schools;
Ability to differentiate within each class;
Flexibility, ability to work with change, and strengths in innovation; and
Effective communication skills.

Boulder Country Day School is located on 5 acres in Boulder, Colorado. We serve 350 students 2.5 years olds through 8th grade. The Middle School is an approved International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme.
