The College of Education, Health and Human Services (CEHHS) is seeking applications for a lecturer position in the Department of Education for the Fall 2019 semester. The selected candidate will be responsible for teaching the class, EXPS 407/507. This inquiry-based laboratory course intends to support the learning of early childhood educators (birth to grade 2) in foundations of science and mathematics. The course integrates concepts and processes that arise in both disciplines, such as classification; units and measurements; shapes and structures and their properties; patterns; problem solving; representation; cause and effect; use of evidence. The class is scheduled for Mondays/Wednesdays, 10:00-11:45 am.
The selected candidate will be responsible for conducting all instructional duties of this course including teaching, development of assignments, grading, holding office hours for student support, and maintaining a course page through the Canvas Learning Management System.
The position requires that the candidate have a doctoral degree in science or math education, early childhood education or related field or several years of related experience beyond a master’s degree. The candidate should have knowledge of child development and experience working with young children.
