General Statement of Duties: The Psychology Department at Westfield State University invites applications for a one-year temporary Instructor or Assistant Professor position effective September 1, 2019. Candidates will be expected to contribute to the undergraduate curriculum by teaching one or more courses from the Psychology curriculum: including courses such as: Introduction to Psychology, Child Development, Psychology of the Family, Interpersonal Relations and Communication, and/or Practicum Supervision and Coordination. We seek an individual who is prepared to work collaboratively and teach an academic load of 12 hours of teaching per semester.
Requirements: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A minimum of a master's degree in a related field
PREFERRED QUALIFICATION: Doctorate in Psychology or related field. Ability to understand and implement teaching and advising processes and strategies for college students preferred; a demonstrated commitment to promoting domestic diversity and/or global multiculturalism in the curriculum where appropriate.
EQUIVALENCY STATEMENT: Exceptions to these requirements may be made for sound academic reasons in certain specialized academic areas. Applicants who do not meet the qualifications as stated above, but who can demonstrate exceptional talent and accomplishment, are also encouraged to apply.
