Main Line Reform Temple School for Early Childhood Education is seeking a full time kindergarten teacher. We are looking for an creative team player, who understands child development. The Teacher is responsible for supporting creative learning while teaching basic academic concepts to children and supporting their cognitive, social and emotional skills. The Teacher must interact with the children on a personal level and identify each child’s learning patterns. The teacher will create interactive lesson plans to cover various subjects and monitor student’s progress. The Teacher will use play and other hands-on techniques as a main facilitator of learning. Coordinate and implement educational curriculum by developing classroom activities based on developmentally appropriate practices, early learning standards, and a play-based, interactive teaching pedagogy.
Lead by example; encourage teaching team success through modeling and coaching.
Plan individually personalized and group age-appropriate activities to actively engage children and encourage social, cognitive and emotional growth.
Maintain frequent communications with parents through informal discussions, progress reports, and parent-teacher conferences.
Ensure all center policies and state regulations are met.
Ensure a healthy classroom environment – including maintaining appropriate hygiene and cleanliness standards and safety and security of children.
Supervise teacher assistants and classroom volunteers to ensure they are following planned activities, hygiene and safety standards.
Maintain accurate records, forms and files.
Maintain personal professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement.
Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education is required
Valid state-issued teaching certificate for Pre-K – 3rd Grade
Strong oral and written communication skills and computer skills.
Creative and artistic teaching abilities
Patience and flexibility is a must
Ability to work well with others (staff, children, and parents) and to foster a team environment.
Excellent knowledge of child development and the latest education theories and practices
Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification.
Must clear full background check and must pass health screening.
