Essential Functions of the position are detailed below, and include any physical requirements below that. 1. Provides management for the Head Start and/or Child Care services for their assigned site; in conjunction with the Department and Service Area administration is responsible for the programmatic and fiscal integrity of the services provided. 2. Completes all required documentation in accordance with agency/programmatic policies and procedures, professional standards, and external requirements of all relevant regulatory, DCFS licensing, funding, contractual or accrediting bodies. 3. Develops and maintains partnerships with community organizations and institutions to enhance the services offered to the students and their families. 4. Ensures that orientation, training and technical assistance for teaching staff on Creative Curriculum, TSG, ESI-R, ASQ-SE, as well as other requirements and expectations are completed. 5. Must have availability to work at all of Catholic Charities locations. Assignment to sites may be either short or long term and work hours may vary based upon staffing needs. 6. Responsible for and/or makes the needed recommendations for the hiring, discipline and performance evaluation of staff; responsible for coaching, supervising, training, and professional development of staff, responsible for assigning work to staff and ensuring the work is performed in an efficient, prompt, professional and accurate manner and provides guidance, when necessary. 7. Coordinates and implements a recruitment plan for the site to ensure full enrollment at all times and participates in the on-going recruitment activities designed to increase enrollment in the program. 8. Maintains up to date knowledge in the field by attending seminars, workshops and in-service trainings, obtains at least 20 professional development hours annually per requirements of Gateways to Opportunity, obtains Gateways to Opportunity credentials relevant to position and works to increase credential levels as applicable to funding, accrediting and regulatory requirements. 9. May work in the classroom, kitchen or other areas/responsibilities of the Site as needed to ensure compliance.

Kneel and move from sitting, bending, kneeling or standing multiple times a day. Push and pull objects up to 35 pounds. Climb up and down up to 3 flights of stairs at a time. Lift up to 35 pounds. Additional Requirements: Must be able to walk, run and participate in physical activities with small children. Must be able to bend, stoop and sit at the children's level. Must be able to rearrange classroom equipment and supplies.

Relevant Education: Preferred: Master's Degree in Early Childhood Educationand 9 college credits in ECE leadership, administration or management. Minimum: Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development
Relevant Experience: Preferred: 3 years of direct teaching experience, classroom experience and management experience. Bilingual Spanish. Minimum: 2 years of direct teaching experience with preschoolers
Certification/Licensure: Preferred: Certification in Food Safety and Sanitation, CPR and First Aide. Minimum: Must obtain minimum Gateways to Opportunity Level 1 Illinois Directors Credential or 3 semester hours of college credit in approved training. Certification in Food Safety and Sanitation, CPR and First Aide obtained within six months of employment.
