UCDS has a partner school in Mumbai, India and they are looking for a MYP/DP Division Head
Ascend International School is seeking a dynamic leader for a new and growing program for 6th-12th grades. The MYP/DP Division Head is the academic leader for the middle and high school and must have excellent communication skills, a passion for Project Based Learning and flexibility to adapt PBL philosophies within an IB framework. The head will develop and maintain a program in the collaborative teaching model that is aligned with the school mission, PBL practices and IB requirements.
The Head will:
Establish and maintain a dynamic and collaborative team teaching environment for the secondary program.
Represent the middle and high school in all its relations with the faculty, staff, students and parents of the community.
Act as a resource to teachers to help further understanding and implementation of the PBL model, and to develop effective teaching strategies within student-centered classrooms.
Help envision, plan, and implement a year-long professional development program which maximizes student learning and teacher professional growth.
Collaboratively lead faculty in cohesive efforts towards maximized student learning and actualization of Ascend’s mission, vision, and objectives.
Lead and positively participate in faculty meetings and professional trainings.
Demonstrate an ongoing commitment to professional growth by thoughtfully giving and receiving feedback and modeling inquiry and innovation.
Monitor teacher performance and lead/implement shared practices. Implement a level wide coaching and evaluation system, in line with Ascend’s best practices.
Inspire teacher leadership.
Work in collaboration with the IB MYP and DP Coordinators and all teachers to ensure program alignment and effective implementation of PBL objectives within the MYP framework.
Compensation package for expatriates includes housing, health insurance, visa costs, settling and travel allowances.
