Montclair Kimberley Academy, an innovative independent school with a strong national reputation serving students PreK-12, seeks an engaging, experienced Primary School Spanish instructor.
Primary responsibilities of this position are teaching Spanish to PreK-3 students and participating in all required school meetings and activities. Qualified candidates will meet the following criteria:
Fluency in speaking, understanding, reading, and writing in Spanish
A. in Spanish or a related field (teaching, education)
A minimum of three years teaching experience, preferably at the elementary level
Fluency speaking, understanding, reading, and writing in English
An ideal candidate possesses and demonstrates the following:
Passion, enthusiasm, and energy for working with young children
Outstanding interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
Willingness and ability to work as a member of a collaborative team
Practical knowledge of child development, language acquisition principles, and pedagogy for teaching foreign language to young learners
Ability and desire to establish a strong rapport with students and engage classes in developmentally-appropriate lessons using various modalities and materials
Practical knowledge of different Spanish-speaking cultures and how to embed cultural content into teaching the target language
Knowledge of technology integration to enhance teaching and learning
Awareness of and experience with different learning styles
Effective techniques for classroom management
Commitment to an inclusive learning environment
