The Multimedia Specialist is a critical member of the Communications team helping to raise awareness of ZERO TO THREE and deeply engage core audiences in our mission. The Multimedia Specialist thinks outside of the box to provide video production (pre-production, production, post-production editing) and a wide range of multimedia services, including photography, photo compositing, artwork, multimedia presentations, 2D and 3D animation, motion graphics, visual effects, closed caption social ads, infographics, web, email and occasionally print design.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Produce video stories, photos, graphic design, and other multimedia content that is fresh, compelling, and timely and inspires our core audiences (including parents, professionals and policymakers) to engage and take action
Implement a robust video-publishing schedule across social platforms to drive deeper engagement with ZERO TO THREE audiences, improve the user experience, and increase brand awareness and engagement
Serve as in-house videographer, operating video and photography cameras, teleprompter, lighting, and sound equipment for recording of presentations, events and other multimedia projects
Support website updates and the development of mobile tools and applications
Maintain digital asset database of marketing resources such as photos, videos, electronic media, etc.
Oversee use and maintenance of multimedia equipment and media studio. Research and recommend equipment and software updates based on industry best practices
Prepare and present cohesive, multi-dimensional creative concepts to support internal and external campaigns and priority projects
Plan, schedule and coordinate video productions
Assist in designing and developing engaging HTML email templates and other forms of electronic communication
Participate in planning and creative sessions to elevate content and campaign development.
Serve as creative liaison with in-house team, creative agencies, vendors and freelancers.
Stay abreast of emerging creative and communication platforms, technologies and technique
Consistently deliver projects on deadline while managing work through a creative project management system
Performs other duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the department
Essential Skills and Experience
3-5 years multimedia design experience with a strong portfolio including, videography, photography animation, illustration, interactive creative elements and print design. (portfolio of work required)
Expert knowledge in the use of Adobe production design tools, including Premiere, After Effects, Audition and Photoshop
Ability to create graphics and short videos for marketing campaigns, including social media platforms (e.g. Facebook, Instagram, YouTube) and web and email
Knowledge of HTML and responsive web design is plus
Strong understanding of the importance of brand identity and creating multi-channel content with cohesive brand voice
Conceptual thinking and creative problem solving to take a project from ideation to completion
Demonstrated ability to analyze target audiences and synthesize messages to maximize audience engagement
Highly creative with the ability to work autonomously, yet able to take direction well
Collaborative, proactive team player with a positive attitude and high level of energy able to work in a fast-paced environment
Strong organizational skills with ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines.
Excellent interpersonal skills and presentation skills, including the ability to clearly articulate both design decisions/rationale

Education Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) in marketing, communications, multimedia, graphic design, digital marketing, or related field.
Physical Requirements While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee is frequently required to use finger dexterity as well as sufficient hand dexterity to use a computer keyboard and be capable of reading a computer screen. Also may need to remain seated for long periods of time, have the ability to perform repetitive motions, and hear well enough to detect nuances and receive detailed information. The employee may be required to walk, grasp objects, push or pull objects, bend, squat, reach, stand, or kneel. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision for preparing and analyzing data.
Working Conditions The work conditions described here is representative of those an employee encounters while performing this job. Depending on work location, the incumbent will typically work indoors in a heated and air-conditioned office, with a mixture of natural, incandescent and fluorescent light with low to moderate noise levels or be subject to working conditions conducive to a home office. When travel is expected, the incumbent will be exposed to outside environmental conditions during those times.
