Hamlin Robinson School, located in Seattle, Washington, is an independent, non-profit, accredited, state-approved, elementary and middle day school offering a comprehensive educational program to serve students with dyslexia and other language related difficulties. The HRS Auxiliary Programs & Advancement Associate works as a member of the Administration to support and enhance the mission of the school and its Learning Center through communication, fundraising, and school relations. This position is also responsible for the general direction and management of the school’s auxiliary programs which include but are not limited to extended day school programs, the Day On program, and summer program. This person must work collaboratively at all levels of the school.
Identify and coordinate the development of summer program offerings, camp descriptions, and materials
Develop and coordinate program announcement and registration materials in collaboration with the Communications Director and Technology Coordinator
Promote the summer program and coordinate attendance at area Summer Camp Fairs
Coordinate summer program logistics and coverage
Coordinate the Summer Program staffing, schedules, letters of agreement, job descriptions etc.as necessary to provide coverage for all summer program activities in collaboration with administration
Coordinate student volunteers and documentation of service hours for student volunteers
Support the Managing Director of the Slingerland Teacher Training to ensure participant success in the overall program
Oversee and develop the Homework Club Program
Provide supervision of students during Homework Club
Coordinate and oversee the After School Program, including development of class offerings, recruitment of in-house teachers, and promotion of program
Be familiar with recess rules in order to provide consistency, clarification, and teaching
Manage enrollment in all auxiliary programs
Promote and market programs, both internally and externally
Develop and promote opportunities for parent and community engagement, such as all school skating parties, opera nights, sporting events, etc.
Coordinate and organize all school events such as Back to School BBQ, Arts Festival, STEM Night, etc.
Manage and coordinate student enrichment events such as special assemblies, visiting artists, authors, or community members, etc.
Coordinate and oversee student safety and emergency management protocol in collaboration with school administration
Provide support for the Boarding School Fair and other special school events
Annual Fund & Philanthropic Giving
Utilize database management software to track and record all philanthropic giving, including corporate giving and in-kind gifts
Promptly prepare acknowledgement letters and pledge reminders
Prepare regular reports for the Director of Advancement and reconcile gifts with Business Office
Document and maintain record of all funds received and reconcile with the Business Office
Serve as A point-person for auction operations, including night-of support
Other duties as assigned.

Have experience working with children, knowledge about child development, and possess conflict resolution skills. The individual should be flexible, take initiative, be willing to learn, and able to work both collaboratively and independently. Additionally, it is important to appreciate and enjoy working with students who have learning differences. Proficiency with computers is necessary. The successful candidate must be able to lift up to 20 pounds and pass a criminal background check.
