St. George’s Episcopal School is searching for an enthusiastic and creative Early Childhood Assistant Teacher to work in our two or three year old classroom for the 2018-2019 school year. St. George’s is seeking candidates who demonstrate a growth mindset and possess strong verbal and written communication skills. St. George’s is a preschool to eighth grade independent school serving 370 students and employing approximately 100 faculty and staff. ?Experience working with preschool age children
Bachelor’s degree is preferred but not required

Ability to continually listen to children, reflect and document children's process and their work
Exceptional communication skills which prove effective in communicating with parents and establishing a team approach with the child’s family
Excellent knowledge of child development, latest education theories and practices, and current trends in education and professional development
Curriculum and Teaching Methods
?Understands the social and emotional needs of preschool age students
Knowledge of Reggio Emilia and The Project Approach
Experience with or appreciation for project/constructivist learning approach and an ability to integrate real-life learning experiences into the curriculum
Ability and willingness to differentiate instruction for students
Understanding of the environment as a teaching tool
Work with Teaching Team
?Experience working in a teaching team
Positive attitude and eager to work collaboratively with full time teacher, peers and colleagues in developing and planning for instruction
A desire to respond to and initiate the solving of problems through clear and open communication
Open to feedback and able to take risks
Highly interested in pursuing professional development opportunities and dedicated to lifelong learning and possessing a growth mindset
