One year fellowship position, grant funded, responsible for providing child life interventions to pediatric patients and families while working along side child life department staff members. Expands current skills learned from child life internship and further develops knowledge of child life department daily responsibilities. Assists the department with providing direct and indirect child life services to meet the needs of more pediatric patients and families.
Work requires the knowledge of theories, principles, and concepts acquired through completion of a bachelor's degree or master's degree in child life, child development, psychology or closely related field. CCLS certification eligibility through the Association of Child Life Professionals required/completion of 480 hour internship at minimum. Must posses a strong knowledge of child life development, child life theory and practice, customer service, communication, organizational and interpersonal skills. Requires analytical skills with the ability to exercise sound judgment, attention to detail and problem resolution.
