The School of Education at Mills College invites applications for a tenure-track position, open-rank, in Early Childhood Education with a focus in Special Education and Child Life in Hospitals to begin in August 2019. The School of Education at Mills College attracts doctoral, masters, and credential students who are committed to a social justice model of education. Our Early Childhood Education program supports an undergraduate Child Development major, as well as MA programs in Early Childhood Education, Early Childhood Education (SPED), Child Life in Hospitals, Infant Mental Health, and other collaborative degree programs in the School of Education. Responsibilities of this position will include directing the Child Life and Special Education programs, teaching and advising undergraduate and graduate students, supporting the development of online courses, supervising student theses, arranging placements for students, maintaining a productive program of scholarship, writing program documents for accrediting agencies, and active engagement in service to the School of Education and the College.
This position requires a doctorate in Education or related field and certification as a Child Life Specialist.
The successful applicant will be an established scholar, with a successful publishing record and demonstrated administrative and leadership abilities. We are seeking a faculty member with a clear commitment to working in and to preparing students for work in urban and multicultural contexts.
This is full-time exempt position.
