POSITION SUMMARY: The Early Childhood Site Manager is responsible for the operation of a comprehensive child development program at Passages Charter School fulfilling the obligation of all grants being implemented at the site. The Site Manager will oversee all preschool and Family Room activities, along with collaboration with the Passages education and administrative team to align best practices, protocols, and objectives.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Oversees all human resource issues including staffing, performance issues, and supervision. Conducts staff meetings and develops professional development plans for site. Supervises the education component through classroom observations and providing technical assistance to teachers.
Maintains all funder reports, monitoring of funder requirements, and program reports.
Track and monitor all student fees and program funds.
Maintains full enrollment, providing recruitment plans and retention of students.
Assures that all activities for children are based upon developmentally appropriate practices aligned with the Reggio Emilia Approach.
Ensures program is in compliance with all funder requirements.
Supports communication with parents regarding the center’s programs through regular newsletters, bulletin boards, frequent notes, telephone calls, etc.
Establishes relationships with internal AHS departments and community organizations. Collaborates with Passages educational and administrative team to support the program and align policies.
Monitors and track grant funds. Applies for grant opportunities.
Keeps abreast of early childhood education practices, maintains quality performance levels, and improves program to align with best practices.
Other Duties: All other duties as assigned.
Demonstrate ability to have a positive impact on the Passages, Adult Education program, and the LEAF program as a whole. Initiate and develop projects that will improve the quality of services offered by the LEAF Program
QUALIFICATIONS (SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES):
Bachelor’s Degree in Education or Administration, preferred Masters degree.
Strong knowledge of Windows and computer software, and comprehensive familiarity with all aspects of the Microsoft Office suite. Knowledge in DFSS, CPS, and ISBE data systems.
Experience working in a school-based program with adults and children.
Experience with multicultural environment
Experience with Reggio Emilia Approach
Bilingual / or proficiency in more than English
