The Education Redesign Lab at the Harvard Graduate School of Education is seeking a mission-driven, full-time Research and Communications Manager to play a key role in furthering the work of the Education Redesign Lab. Working primarily with the Associate Director for Programs and Research and the Senior Associate for National Policy and Partnerships, the Research and Communications Manager will participate in all aspects of research and communications for the Lab. This includes qualitative research, data collection and analysis, and communicating our research in a range of written and other media formats.
The Education Redesign Lab is focused on helping local communities build integrated child development and education systems in order to close educational achievement and opportunity gaps for low income children. To accomplish this, the Lab directly supports communities through technical assistance through our Field Work, conducts Research on best practices in communities, and focuses on Movement Building through communications, convenings, leadership development and policy change.
The Lab's largest initiative is By All Means, which is a consortium of municipal teams which serve as lab sites for creating integrated systems of education and support for children.
Play a key role in all stages of documenting and evaluating the work of our By All Means Initiative through qualitative and data analyses, including research design, data collection, instrument development, identification of key outcomes, and conducting interviews, focus groups and observations. Write up findings in reports and other formats including toolkits, and present findings at conferences. (50%)
Initiate and conduct new research on topics related to the Lab's priority areas, and produce research briefs and other material based on this research. (30%)
Oversee the design and publication of reports and other materials. (10%)
Oversee the management of the Lab's web site, social media operation, and national e-newsletters and oversee the promotion of events and materials. (10%)

Bachelor's degree and minimum of 2 years of experience in education-related research and communications.
