An employee in this class will plan, develop and help implement quality program plans for after-school, weekend programs and special events at recreation centers. They will assist with administrative duties and reports, such as daily logs and facility licensure procedures, also assist with program registration and facility reservations. The employee may be responsible for opening and closing the facility, addressing inquiries and assisting the public, operating passenger van, along with performing additional duties as required.
Possession of a valid NC Driver’s License. Knowledge of principles and practices of after-school programming, summer camp or similar programming. Ability to organize and lead group games and activities. Ability to supervise and maintain control of a large group of children. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent time management skills, with the ability to multitask. Highly dependable with a strong professional demeanor, attention to detail, and exceptional organizational skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to operate various software programs. A combination of education, training, certifications or experience may be substituted for the minimum qualifications.
Monday-Saturday less than 20 hours a week as needed.
This is an intermittent position without benefits.
Associate’s Degree in Recreation, Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or closely related field. Minimum of 2 years experience in working with youth in recreation, childcare, school or similar setting.
