Job Summary Under general direction of the supervisor, oversees hiring procedures for the Child Development and Family Support (CDFS) programs, serves as a liaison with college human resources staff, and provides general customer service and human resource functions. Ensures compliance with applicable Head Start Performance Standards, and with federal and state regulations.
Position Specific Duties
Organizes the recruitment and hiring process of program staff, with support from Mt. Hood Community College's (MHCC) HR department.
Coordinates the internal and external recruitment process for support staff positions.
Enters and maintains electronic personnel records; ensures data is up-to-date and accurate.
Maintains and updates personnel and health files in accordance with relevant regulation.
Tracks and enters payroll information for full and part time employees. Collects timesheets from supervisors, enters data into MHCC database and maintains department copies. Develops and maintains tracking report.
Assists CDFS employees with requests related to human resources issues.
Provides orientations to newly hired staff, substitutes and volunteers regarding MHCC and CDFS policies, procedures and required trainings.
Ensures staff maintain current certifications as required by position. Coordinates the background registration of all employees, ensuring staff maintain enrollment in the Central Background Registry at all times.
Hires and orients part-time employees.
Coordinates volunteers for the CDFS program.
Assists in the preparation of reports to meet funding regulations.
Reports suspected child abuse in accordance with Oregon Statute and Head Start procedures.
Attends training sessions and participates in training opportunities.
Supports and encourages parent involvement.
Works as a team with community agencies and other staff in providing services to children and families.
Maintains the confidentiality of highly sensitive information.
Interacts with children, families and community members in a supportive and professional manner.
Performs all other duties as assigned.
