Our educational program is designed for children ages five through 12 who need either day treatment, residential or a school-only program in an on-grounds school. Classrooms can hold up to 12 students with a special education teacher and educational mental health worker in each class. Additional services provided include physical education, Title One math and reading, computers, speech/language therapy, occupational therapy and music, art and movement groups. With this is mind, our school is designed to provide a consistent, well-structured system of education and behavioral management that focuses on a childâ??s individual skill level, learning style, cognitive ability, and developmental degree of socialization.
We are seeking an experienced part-timeSchool Social Worker to join Mount Saint Vincent Home. This individual must have a proven track record of working with families and community agencies in alleviating confrontational circumstances in order to encourage academic success for all students. This person will conduct screenings and assessments, and provide individual and group counseling. This person will help develop progressive relationships with school staff, students and their families and contribute considerably in building a learning team. This person will also function as a member of the Individualized Education Plan (IEP) team to determine studentâ??s eligibility for special services, appropriate programming, and on-going progress.
A masterâ??s degree or higher from a program of social work education or a masterâ??s degree or higher in another mental health discipline.
Must have a School Social Worker License in the State of Colorado. Licensure in a mental health discipline preferred, but must have the ability to obtain a provisional license.
Preferably two years or more experience working in the mental health field with children and training in child development, IEPs, family dynamics, systems and cultural differences.
