Immediate Job Opening to work in an exciting new Early Childhood Mental Health Program for children ages 0-5 in Manhattan, a ThriveNYC initiative.
Seeking a mental health consultant to provide support to Early Learn program staff, students, and caregivers throughout Manhattan. Training in evidence-based early childhood mental health practices and clinical supervision will be provided.
Establish collaborative relationships with Early Learn Programs throughout Manhattan in order to provide Early Childhood Mental Health Consultation
Observe early childhood classrooms and help educators to implement positive behavior interventions and strategies to support social-emotional development
Train Early Learn staff on early childhood mental health and wellness, including symptoms of trauma in young children
Consult with staff and families in Early Learn Programs to determine the need for additional support or referral for identified students
Assist in developing reflective practice and relationship building among staff and families within Early Learn Programs
Conduct intakes to assess the mental health needs of referred children birth to age five and conduct mental health screenings on caregivers
Make referrals as needed for children who would benefit from more intensive mental health services, such as Child Parent Psychotherapy
Maintain accurate and timely records of services rendered and contacts made
Participate in regular supervision with Program Supervisor and attend all trainings
