The YWCA of Metropolitan Chicago, a 21st Century, business-savvy, social enterprise committed to “Eliminating Racism and Empowering Women,” is seeking EARLY HEAD START TEACHER COACHES. These are full time, exempt positions, reporting directly to the Early Head Start Education Manager in Addison.
Overall Purpose: To assist in overseeing and directing the planning, organizing and implementation of education services for children in the Early Head Start programs.
Work with partner child care providers and staff to establish plans and procedures to ensure the safety and security of children
Work with Teacher coaches to evaluate the need of each site and devise a training strategy
Assess trainings needed and reports/coordinates with Education Manager
Offer technical assistance on various quality measures
Provide reports to Education Manager on weekly visits to child care providers
Work closely with Disabilities/Mental Health specialist
Work with child care provider partner to recruit and meet required disabilities enrollment per EHS standards
Coordinate training and technical assistance efforts with the Child Care Resource and Referrals’ Quality team
Perform part time classroom teacher duties to include developing and implementing individual educational plans for children
Correct and/or coach to ensure each site/program is compliant with all relevant licensing and EHS requirements
Maintain a strong understanding of performance standards, Early Head Start curriculum and ExceleRate Illinois
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, social welfare, public administration, or one of the social sciences
Minimum of three years of preschool management experience
Early Childhood Classroom experience
Proficient in FCCERS, ITERS, and ExceleRate Illinois Quality measures
Ability to pass a health examination and a criminal background check
A demonstrated ability to work independently, while prioritizing and managing multiple assignments simultaneously as needed
Ability to travel locally and to work nights and weekends as needed
Excellent presentation skills incorporating all strategies for all learning areas
