|Liaise for ED&LS and Related Research Projects Requiring ECEP Participation, including to: Integrate and facilitate faculty and student projects within campus early care and education programs; Communicate with teaching staff, parents and other stakeholders regarding participation in research projects and ED&LS practicum, ensuring standards of appropriateness and confidentiality; Coordinate parent and teacher education sessions with researchers; Schedule and maintain Child Study Center rooms and equipment; Schedule child participation with teaching staff; and Accompany children for testing. |
Assist Practicum Instructor(s), including to: Facilitate class discussions; Coach practicum students; Provide feedback on in-person and recorded classroom practice and assignments.
Coordinate Teacher-Research Collaboratives, including to: Facilitate the interdisciplinary research and training aspects of the Child Study Center and its affiliated ECEP campus child-care sites; Serve as liaison between teachers, students, parents, and campus administration regarding research issues; Report to the Executive Director of ECEP and the Coordinating Director of ED&LS regarding teacher/student and parent/teacher interaction and communication relative to research; and Participate in IHD intellectual activities as time and schedule permit.
ED&LS Outreach, including to: Facilitate the use of ECEP campus child care sites by the University community and promote broad academic and community participation, through workshops, colloquia, study groups and individual visits and observations; Meet individually with visitors, including educators, researchers and public policy experts; and Explore and establish partnerships with local, community-based early childhood education programs for research collaborations
Miscellaneous projects, including to: Provide administrative reporting and tracking to ECEP and ED&LS; and Other duties as assigned to support ED&LS, Researchers and ECEP collaboration.? Strong working knowledge of early childhood education processes, as well as related policy and regulatory compliance requirements, and prior supervisory experience in an early childhood education setting. ? Strong interpersonal skills, service orientation, active listening, critical thinking, ability to multi-task effectively in a challenging environment, organizational skills and effective verbal and written communication skills. ? Experience with coaching, teaching, and providing professional development in and ECE environment. ? Experience with and/or knowledge of research in early childhood education programs. ? Interest and understanding of theoretical and applied developmental research as well as public policy issues involved in research relating to young children and early care and education. ? Experience working directly with children. ? Requires basic computer applications.
Education/Training: ? Master?s degree in developmental psychology, child development, early childhood education, or related emphasis or equivalent experience. ? Must have and maintain ECE Site Supervisor Permit.
Licenses or certifications, if any: ? Must have and maintain current child CPR and first aide certificates. Must pass FBI and DOJ criminal check with approval from Dept. of Social Services. Must test TB negative and have health screening clearance. This is a full time contract position, up to 2 years.
