The Department of Family and Consumer Sciences at Ball State University is looking to fill a full-time, contract-line faculty position available January, 2018. This position has a primary focus on Family Studies.
Major responsibilities: Instructing undergraduates with a commitment to excellence and expertise in one or more of the following areas: child development, family relations, pre-marital/marital processes, family stress and crisis, parenting, grant writing and research methods, and other family-oriented content areas; potentially developing new courses in area of expertise; supporting program growth and development; and, advising students about the discipline and career options. Provide service to the university and the profession.
Minimum qualifications: Master’s degree in Family Studies or Child Development or closely related field completed by date of appointment from an accredited college or university; evidence of ability to instruct undergraduate classes in family studies, and evidence of effective oral and written communication skills.
Preferred qualifications: A record of successful teaching in family studies content and experience working with, or in agencies, that deliver family life education and/or engage in family outreach.
