Hudson Montessori School seeks a part-time Toddler Program faculty member to assume responsibility for an existing Toddler-Parent Program (18 months – 3 years) for the 2017-2018 school year. Enrollees in the Toddler-Parent Program session attend class one time per week for approximately 90 minutes. There are two sessions each academic year. Each session is approximately 10-12 weeks long.
Founded in 1962, Hudson Montessori School serves children from 18 months through 8th grade.
The optimal candidate will help his/her students meet our school’s mission: to foster a Montessori educational environment conducive to each child's unique qualities and abilities for the development of social, emotional, and reasoning skills that are essential for a lifetime of independent, creative thinking and learning in the world community.
Major Roles and Associated Responsibilities
Deliver a Montessori experience for children aged 18 months through 3 years of age.
Communicate and partner with parents on student progress and on Montessori education as this is the first exposure many of the parents have with Montessori education and because they attend the program with their children.
Other duties as assigned by Head of School.
Qualifications and Characteristics
A strong commitment to the mission of Hudson Montessori School.
Montessori training (AMI or AMS) preferred, but not required.
Experience leading a Montessori classroom is preferred. Experience with children is required.
An understanding of the role of “customer service” in an independent school.
Warm, strong communication skills.
A sense of humor, a commitment to teamwork, an affable personality, and a love of children and schools.
