As part of a multi-disciplinary health care team, conducts activities which focus on the emotional and developmental needs of children and families using play and other forms of communication and education; Assesses and recommends programs and policies that will provide a safe, therapeutic and age-appropriate pediatric environment.
Education/Experience: Bachelor's Degree in Child Life, Child Development or related field. Must have completed 480 hours of clinical child life work experience.
Licensing/Certification Requirements: Obtain Certification as a Child Life Specialist within 6 months of hire. Basic Life support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
Additional and/or Preferred Position Requirements
Completed clinical child life work experience in an acute care hospital. Possess Certification as a Child Life Specialist. Master Degree in Child Life.
