The Quality Specialist works within the Child Care Resource + Referral (CCR+R) program providing phone guidance, trainings, and licensure application to child care providers in Southern Illinois. Partnering with various organizations, the Quality Specialist participates in seminars and consultations, and serves on local/state committees related to program needs. As the Quality Specialist, you will be a critical partner with local child care providers, helping to ensure they not only meet, but exceed, the standards for quality child care.
The Quality Specialist responsibilities include:
Work collaboratively with early childhood practitioners currently participating in the child care assistance program.
Assist licensed centers and family child care homes in attaining “ExceleRate Illinois” quality levels.
Provide phone consultations, mailings, and/or trainings on relevant child care topics.
Use program database to record program activity.
Collect, review, and utilize client and program data to inform program/department performance.
Utilize a range of quality rating scales to provide training and technical assistance to providers.
Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field.
2-3 years experience in providing direct services to children or families.
Familiarity with quality child care rating scales (ERS, BAS, PAS) preferred.
Excellent written and oral communication skills, attention to detail, and proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
Valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and reliable transportation is required.
